Review: Soo Ae Purifying Black Charcoal Mask ★★★★★
Soo Ae Purifying Black Charcoal Mask is formulated using Korean binchotan charcoal, a renowned anti-inflammatory that purifies skin while brightening the complexion. With the addition of cultured green tea extract and green caviar extract, this mask recharges, hydrates and boosts skin elasticity, resulting in beautifully clarified, smooth and supple skin in just 15 minutes.
Reviewing yet another Soo Ae mask! This mask is highly rated and highly loved by everyone. I haven’t seen a bad review on this yet.
The usual mugshot shows my red and dehydrated skin. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin, skipping exfoliation to avoid aggravating my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the bag, the mask feels so incredibly soft and soaked in sticky clear essence. There is also a very strong fragrance, and it smells like botanical herbs. I could hardly smell it with the mask on. Soft as it may be, it was still easy to unfold and is super pliable on my face.
I had a bad experience with black moisturizing masks as it was too nourishing for my sensitive skin. So I was hesitant to try this out, But I decided to give it a go anyway since Soo Ae masks have always been good to me. It didn’t manage to cover my entire forehead, then again, not very many sheet masks can cover my humongous forehead. My skin tingled the first 5 minutes that I had this on, I was so ready to rip it off and wash my face but decided to wait it out anyway. The tingle went away very quickly and I left it on for an hour.
It was still wet at the end of the hour. This left a sticky finish after massaging it into my skin. It might be too hydrating for the summer. The scent is mostly gone. Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
Obviously, my redness is mostly gone. My skin feels very hydrated and supple. I highly highly recommend it for a weekly hydration boost!
