Klavuu is a relatively new skincare company that made use of pearl in their products for its whitening and brightening properties. I am in love with the sleek and elegant packaging.
This mask claims to brighten and anti-age with pearl extracts, niacinamide and grapefruit. According to cosdna, this also contains a few potentially sensitizing ingredients like carbomer (viscosity control), triethanol amine (pH adjuster) and phenoxyethanol (preservative).
My skin is feeling slightly dry and mildly irritated today. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, this gave off a light lotiony fragrance. Material was soft and velvety, like a cross between hydrogel and fabric. It also came with a mesh backing, which made it very easy to peel off without risking tear. This is Klavuu’s patented sheet fabric.
Essence was milky and of abundance.
Though the eye, nose and mouth holes were in the perfect positions, the entire sheet was too small for my face. An entire inch of my outer face was uncovered. Adherence was great. I had this on for 30 mins and it was starting to dry out., especially on the forehead and mustache areas.
It took quite abit of massaging for the essence to dry down matte and just then, it started balling up 😥 So I stopped and inspected my face, no visible difference from before sheet masking except hydration! Also, my skin felt a little warm and irritated, so I washed it out and redid my routine.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I really wanted this to work, sadly, it’s not suitable for my sensitive skin type.
