It contains hyaluronic acid, centella asiatica, licorice root extract, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, and broccoli leaf extract just to name a few. For a soothing mask, I was surprised to see fragrance listed in the middle of the ingredients list. This does not contain parabens, alcool, artificial coloring and they do not test on animals.
My skin is experiencing some sensitivity and dryness today. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I detected a very strong clove scent, which I have no affinity for. Essence was clear and gooey. The 100% cotton sheet felt thick and a little scratchy on my skin.
Fit was okay, it was a little too wide so I folded the sides down and part of my nose wasn’t covered. Eye flaps are always a bonus in my book. Adherence was also okay, tiny air bubbles starting forming during the wear. My skin stung badly for the first 10 mins, I contemplated taking it off but I had to find out why everyone likes this mask so much. So I “fighting!” for another 20 mins. Total wear time 30 mins. At this point my skin felt tight, the mask was starting to dry out.
Essence absorbed easily and dried down to a tacky but matte finish. It did disappear in about 15 mins. I was surprised my skin didn’t look blotchy and red from the initial stinging. My skin felt adequately hydrated, looked calm, bright and even. Active blemishes turned from red to brown. I was pleasantly surprised! The clove scent did linger around the entire day, much to my chagrin.
Below is the side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
Affordable as it may be, considering the initial stinging sensation and clove scent, I probably wouldn’t repurchase. Check out more Klairs reviews here.
