My Beauty Diary Vanilla Moisturizing Aroma Mask

Review: My Beauty Diary Vanilla Moisturizing Aroma Mask ★★☆☆☆

This mask claims to hydrate and improve dry, rough, and damaged skin. It contains wolfsbane extract (fragrance), hyaluronic acid (hydration), citric acid (AHA), and vanilla fruit extract (fragrance). Despite containing a few fragrant ingredients, fragrance was also added.

Before masking

My skin is experiencing lots of redness and sensitivity today. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

My Beauty Diary Vanilla Moisturizing Aroma Mask
Material

Out of the packet, I detected a faint floral scent, not vanilla-y or cake-like like I was expecting. It was actually quite soothing and pleasant. Essence was clear and very watery. Material was of medium thickness, reminds me of Naruko’s HA Hydro Lock masks. It felt thick but also easily tearable.

During masking

Fit was okay, it covered my top lip, there was a nose tent and the eye holes were smaller than I’m used to. Adherence was meh. Air pockets starting forming after 2 mins of wearing this. The essence was so drippy I had to wear a bib the whole time. Also, my forehead dried out after 10 mins, but my chin was still dripping! Seems like this material wasn’t very good at holding onto the essence. I had this on for a total of 20 mins, it was mostly whitish and drying.

After masking

There were lots of essence to massage in. Finish was tacky and silky. It dried down to a matte finish ever so slowly. My skin felt very hydrated and looked a little less red. There was also a slight brightening.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

I think this mask is very average compared to other MBD masks. My faves are their hyaluronic acid, squalene, and apple polyphenol variants.
