Before masking

My skin is feeling pretty good today, just some redness and a few post acne marks that need fading. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Material

Out of the packet, I caught a strong grapefruit scent. The mask sheet felt soft and of medium thickness. When I saw the pink sheet my first thought was maybe it was tinted pink by the essence, I realized that the essence was clear but the sheet was pink to match the kitty illustration on the packaging.

During

Fit was great but adherence was meh. Air bubbles kept resurfacing no matter how many times I smooth them out. The fold lines are hard to flatten down and not helping with the air bubbles situation. I had this on for 30 mins, it was tingling throughout. Very strange for a calming mask. I suspect it’s due to alcohol denat being the third ingredient on the list. Plus, it kinda looked creepy more than cute.

After masking

After taking the mask off, I was expecting to see a tomato face, but to my surprise, my skin was only very slightly red. Probably the same amount of redness prior to masking. The tingling sensation went away as soon as the essence was absorbed. Finish was matte and not sticky. My skin looked slightly brighter with smaller pores. Hydration was decent but not fantastic, I layered on a moisturizer.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

This may be cute and affordable but I would hesitate to repurchase due to the stinging sensation. Check out reviews of more Creme Shop masks here.
