One of the 8 in Leaders’ Treatment and Renewal series, this mask claims to relieve/calm irritated and sensitive skin from breakouts and inflammation. It also hydrates and balances skin with chamomile extract (soothe), sugar maple extract (gentle exfoliant), snail secretion filtrate (repair), hyaluronic acid (hydrate), and tea tree leaf oil (antibacterial).
My skin is feeling pretty good today just some redness and a few post acne marks that need fading. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, this has the typical Leaders scent. Essence was thick and gooey. Mask sheet material felt soft and had a medium thickness. It was not only juicy, but also entirely encapsulated in the gooey essence, which made unfolding a little tricky since it did not come with a backing.
Fit and adherence were great! I had this on for 50 mins because once my didactic husband starts talking about his day, he does not know when to stop.
There were lot s of gooey essence to massage in, for reference, this felt thicker, and slightly greasier, than the CosRx snail essence. Once it sort of dried down to a tacky finish, my skin felt extremely hydrated and definitely soothed. Redness was completely gone and skin looked very bright. However, the hydration did gradually disappear as the day went by so I’d recommend sealing it in with a moisturizer or sleeping mask right away, and in doing so, will feel super greasy and heavy at first but bear with it and it’ll balance out eventually.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
That being said, this is definitely a nighttime mask. I still prefer the tea tree variant though, the finish of that one wasn’t as greasy and heavy but still hydrated, soothed, and brightened my skin. Out of the 8 masks in Leaders’ Treatment and Renewal series, that is probably my favorite. Check out more reviews on Leaders sheet masks here.
