Review: My Beauty Diary Hyaluronic Acid Treatment Mask ★★★☆☆
This treatment mask claims to moisturize, brighten, and firm with hyaluronic acid as the star ingredient. Other notable ingredients are: gingko biloba leaf extract, aloe, and citric acid. The ingredients list of this version looks simpler and not as robust.
My skin is feeling pretty good today just some redness and a few post acne marks that need fading. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a faint clean scent, nothing obnoxious. Essence was watery and light. Compared to their more popular HA mask in a blue packaging, this essence felt lighter and less viscous. The material felt thinner and softer than their usual line of masks. This makes it very soft and pliable.
Fit was alright, I had to fold down to the sides and my top lip was partially covered. Adherence was also alright, there were some air bubbles but it clung on very well till the end. I had this on for about 35 mins.
There were lots of watery essence to pat in. My skin felt hydrated from within. My skin also looked very bright and poreless, I don’t recall the HA variant brightening up my skin this much. Redness was minimal, just some on my forehead. Finish was temporarily tacky and dried down matte very quickly. I needed to seal this in with an occlusive as it wasn’t as hydrating as I would prefer on my skin type. However, the effects of this mask didn’t last long on me for my dryness and redness returned a couple hours later.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I still prefer their HA mask, it gives me hydration that lasts and is also more widely available. Check out more reviews on My Beauty Diary masks here.
