This is another #skintertainment mask with a packaging and concept that got me really intrigued. So when Hush gave me free credits to get stuff from their site, naturally I picked this (and some other stuff lol)! The whole shopping experience was a breeze by the way. Use my non-affiliate code ‘maskepedia’ to save yourself 10%. When I showed the packaging to my mom, to my horror, she said it looks cute. Can someone please let her know it’s the opposite? I find it really creepy.
This is a 2-step mask that comes with a capsule containing serum, and a rubber mask. The logic behind this is to prevent active ingredients from evaporating and enhance permeation at the same time. I chose to get the brightening variant because I get cheap thrills from visible post-masking effects. The serum contains a vitamin complex that’s made up of grapefruit extract, tocopherol, ascorbic acid, and folic acid to brighten skin tone and improve skin texture. The rubber mask is made of brown seaweed and lightly coated in essence that contains hydrating ingredients.
My skin is feeling pretty good today just a tad dull and few post acne marks that need fading. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

The serum has a very unique jello texture. When poked, it took about 10 secs to collapse back into the shape of the container. This had a faint lemony scent which is very pleasant.
There was a perfect amount of jello for my entire pancake, I mean face.
Erm..I ripped the rubber while pulling it out of the packaging. It turned out to not be as sturdy as normal rubber, it’s more like a hard pudding. It was also lightly coated with clear essence. This had a faint lemony scent in addition to a faint rubber scent.
Fit was okay, being in 2 pieces helped with the fit, but the nose flap was suuuuuuper long, I felt like Squidward. This mask calls for a longer than usual wait time, 30-40 min, so I had this on for 45 mins, of which the first 15 gave me a stinging sensation. There was no warming sensation, unlike other foil masks that also has this “min evaporation, max permeation” concept.
The leftover essence can’t be massaged in. It just sat on my face like how I applied it in the beginning and I refuse to rub my skin forcefully just to get it to absorb. So I went in with a cotton pad soaked with cleansing water and wiped the darn thing off. It took about 4 pads to surface my skin.
My skin felt very hydrated and I do see some brightening. The uncovered part of my forehead was darker than the rest. Most of my redness was gone and pores were smaller, most likely “flattened” by the rubber pieces.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I think this takes too much time and effort for okay results. Plus, considering the price point, I won’t be repurchasing. BUT I don’t regret trying it out though! The textures were super fun to play with! Perfect for a girls’ night in! Check out more Dr Jart reviews here.
