Maskingdom hands down has the most stunning mask packaging in the industry. It makes me want to buy and collect ALL of them. Especially the set that comes in a swan box, I see myself hugging it in one corner going “my preciousssss”.
This particular variant is a 2-step mask and claims to enhance skin’s self-protection ability with bitter melon, and reduce the loss of moisture and with pigeon pea extract.
My skin is feeling pretty irritated today. I’ve cleansed and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Step 1 contains a ‘vital precursor’. It’s a scentless watery-gel serum that’s supposed to enhance the absorption of the mask essence later on. There was enough for 2 uses but it doesn’t seem to absorb easily into my skin. Instead, it left behind a dewy film that takes about 5 mins to get dry down.
Step 2 contains a juicy sheet mask that’s drenched in watery essence. The scent of this reminded me of rubbing alcohol. Material was of medium thickness and came with a plastic backing. It also felt a little rough.
Fit was alright, I wish it wouldn’t cover my top lip. Adherence was also alright. I had this on for 35 mins and was sporting a goatee.
There were lots of essence left to pat in. Finish was slightly tacky but looked matte. My skin looked very bright, so bright I looked like a ghost. My skin felt nicely hydrated and calm. This is a great day time mask especially for oily skin. My skin type needs an occlusive layer over this or it’ll feel too dry.
I wouldn’t repurchase this as there are masks out there that do not require 2 steps and cost the same or less, delivering better results. Check out more Maskingdom reviews here.
