Review: Oka Recipe Buckle Up The Pore Sheet Mask ★★☆☆☆
The packaging design of these Oka masks has got to be one of the more unique ones out there. I love the clean yet artsy fartsy look, where the fanciness is kept to only the lips. I’ve tried the moisturizing variant some time ago and really liked it! Hope this one is good too. This variant claims to reduce pore size and hydrate skin at the same time. Notable ingredients include witch hazel extract, tea tree leaf oil, honey extract, and camellia sinensis leaf extract.
My skin is feeling alright today, just a couple of deep cystic acne to address. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a very faint tea tree scent, which I happen to enjoy. Essence felt slightly thicker than water, but not drippy. The mask sheet material felt rough and thick, which reminded me of bandage gauze. Like bandage gauze, it was also woven in a way that left room for air flow. There were lots of essence left in the packet, enough for another masking session.
Fit was alright, I wished it didn’t cover my top lip. Adherence was meh due to the thick nature of the fabric. I don’t remember the fit and adherence of the moisturizing variant being this bad. 25 mins in and my face was covered in air bubbles. After a total wear time of 35 mins, it was practically detaching from my face.
I don’t see any significant results other than basic hydration. There was a slight reduction in redness but that’s about it. Dewy finish also dissipated quickly.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I bought a bundle of 7 variants when Kmall24 had a mega deal. Not giving up on this brand yet, hopefully the next one will be good! Check out more Oka Recipe reviews here.
