KinGirls Black Currant & Vanilla Extract Face Mask

I missed out on the first round of testing out these adorable af masks, and had the largest case of #fomo. But I’m all cured now because Beautibi sent this into my grubby paws! Woohoo! I read that this new batch has a better fit now, based on feedback from the first round of testing.

KinGirls macaron series consists of 8 masks, their names look good enough to eat. Fun fact: I don’t have a sweet tooth, I drink my coffee black and only eat dark chocolate. But macarons are the only sweet things I eat, even then, they can’t be too sweet.

This variant I received is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. It is also hypoallergenic and free from chemical preservatives, fragrance, coloring agent, and mineral oils. Notable ingredients: lactobacillus ferment (anti-acne), trehalose (hydrating, anti-oxidant), glycyrrhizate (soothing,anti-inflammatory), and oat kernal extract (soothing).

Before masking

My skin is a slightly irritated and dry today. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Material

Out of the packet, I was expecting a berry scent, instead, I caught a cologne (?) fragrance. It wasn’t anything overwhelming. Essence was clear and watery. This was a black mask that had a medium thickness and felt very soft. The material was not entirely opaque, unlike most black masks.

During masking

On the skin, it looked entirely opaque so I wasn’t sure if all air bubbles have been smoothed out. The fit and adherence were definitely amazing! I had this on for 30 mins.

I was surprised to see a total lack of slits despite the great fit and adherence.

After masking

Massaging in the essence felt like a gel moisturizer, good thing it didn’t take very long to absorb/evaporate. My skin felt very hydrated, soft, and supple. The greatest difference I saw was how bright and radiant my skin looked! Redness was completely gone and I was just glowing! Skin tone also looked even. Finish felt slightly tacky (which eventually went away), and looked semi-matte.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

This is a great one for dry skin types in the day and oily skin types at night! So happy I have a back up of this, into the hoard pile it goes!

Go be beautiful!

Love,
Elaine
