Review: My Beauty Diary Agropyron Cristatum Mask ★★★★★
I don’t even want to try pronouncing the name of this mask lol! Touted to give an instant cooling effect, this is exactly what I need to bring down the temperature of my skin. Recent events in my life have not been very smooth-sailing.
Aside from the instant cooling effect, this mask also claims to hydrate, refresh, soothe, and repair sun damage. Notable ingredients: citric acid (7th), peppermint leaf extract (10th), aloe barbadensis leaf juice (11th), and licorice root extract (15th). Surprisingly, the star ingredient agropyron cristatum (crested wheatgrass) was listed pretty far down the list.
My skin is a slightly irritated and dry today. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, this gave off a fresh leafy scent. Essence was watery and drippy. The mask material felt as thin and soft as silk, just a tad firmer. Good thing it came with a backing, this really helped with the application.
Fit and adherence were great! The minty sensation started just 10 secs after application. It was a little too strong at first but I powered through the first 5 mins and started to enjoy it. I had this on for 30 mins, it was still damp and minty.
These new MBD masks no longer come with any cuts, unlike their older masks which came with plenty of deep cuts.
The remaining essence absorbed/dried down fast and left a silky, non-tacky finish. Just one look at my skin and I knew this belongs in my HG pile. My skin felt moderately hydrated but looked absolutely flawless. My skin was no longer red, alot brighter, and poreless. Fine lines were also plumped. The minty sensation disappeared after 15-20 mins.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
This was a top-notch mask and I intend to stock this up! I’d reckon all skin types will really enjoy this mask! Check out more My Beauty Diary masks here.
