I realized that once every 5 weeks or so, my pores require a week of spring cleaning. Unlike you lucky peeps, actives is not a viable option for me, and I can’t physical exfoliate or use pore strips that often. So, this week is dedicated to my pores.
My skin is a slightly dry and very congested today. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a light clean fragrance. Essence was runny and clear. The bamboo charcoal sheet had a medium thickness but it felt very soft and was not completely opaque.
Bamboo charcoal is a natural detoxifier. When applied to the skin it will draw bacteria, poison, chemicals, dirt and more from clogged pores. The best part is that bamboo charcoal isn’t harmful or too harsh on the skin and has great adhesion.
Fit was alright, I wish it covered more of my nose because that’s the area where my pores are most prominent. Adherence was great! Unlike most black masks, I did not feel any tingle on my upper jaw/ear lobe area where there’s eczema. I had this on for 25 mins.
My skin felt nicely hydrated and did not require a moisturizer on top. It’s the ideal level of hydration. Finish was silky and not sticky after 5-10 mins. I noticed some brightness and calming. Pores definitely looked smaller and cleaner, but it wasn’t as extreme as I expected. But I did notice less oil on my nose throughout the day.
I’m definitely happy with these effects on my sensitive skin, I foresee myself reaching out for these even on non-pore care days. However, it might be too mild on non-sensitive skin types.
