Review: 23 Years Old Badecasil Dermaseal Mask ★★★★★
23 Years Old is a brand that has never let me down, despite their excessive use of packaging. They’re most famous for their mouthless masks.
This mask contains betaine salicylate and tea tree leaf extract to calm and moisturize troubled skin. Betaine salicylate, a fatty acid that is highly moisturizing and soothing, works simultaneously to calm sensitive skin and to remove dead skin cells. The hydrolyzed egg membrane treats damaged skin while allowing the skin pores to absorb the tea leaf extracts and control sebum production.
My skin is slightly irritated and greasy today due to the heat wave. I’m also sporting a couple of PIHs. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I did not catch any scent. The egg membrane material felt very unique! It’s thin, slightly stretchy and reminded me of wet packaging tissue. Essence was clear and runny.
Fit was mostly great, I wished the eye, nose and mouth holes were bigger. Since the edges ran along the inner perimeter of my face, this might be too small for some with wider face structures.
Adherence was great! The moment the material touched my skin, it was hard to smooth out the wrinkles because it clung on for its dear life!
I had this on for 20 mins, it was starting to dry out.
There was little to no essence left to pat in. Skin looked wrinkly from the creases of the material, good thing it completely disappeared in about 30 mins. There was a perfect amount of hydration right after masking, dry skin types might find this insufficient. I needed a light moisturizer over this to ensure the hydration lasts a whole day on my dehydrated skin type. I also noticed a slight reduction in redness, slight brightening, and smaller pores. PIH was also lightened and skin felt very soft.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
This is a great one for day time masking or oily skin types! I’d totally stock up on these if only they’re weren’t so expensive. Check out more 23 Years Old reviews here.
