Review: Sexylook Intensive Acne Black Cotton Mask ★★★★.☆
Sexylook Intensive Acne Black Cotton Mask claims to help control oil, purify skin, hydrate, and brighten with witch hazel, oleanolic acid, obsidian extract, calendula extract, aloe vera extract, and hyaluronic acid.
The interesting ingredient here is obsidian extract. It has a pH level similar to human skin and facilitates absorption of the mask’s nutrients into the skin.
My skin is very irritated and dry today. It is also slightly congested. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a faint floral fragrance. The black charcoal infused cotton sheet came without a backing but was easy to unfold. It had a medium thickness, felt soft, was completely opaque, and drenched in watery-gel essence.
Fit was great! The sheet was big enough to cover my forehead, cup my chin and still have plenty of excess on the sides. The holes were perfectly aligned with my features and were a good size.
Adherence was average. Fold lines refused to stay down no matter how much I tried smoothing it out. Other than that, the mask clung on pretty well.
I had this on for 30 mins, it was drying out.
There was little to no essence left to pat in. Finish was matte and non-tacky, as with most Taiwanese masks. The first thing I noticed was how devoid of color my skin looked. If you look closely, you can see the difference in skin shades on my forehead marking the border of the sheet mask. My skin looked fairer, calm, and even PIE and PIH were lightened. Hydration level was a tad insufficient for my dehydrated skin type. Pore size was also reduced.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I’m impressed with this mask! This is a great one for oily skin types. Considering the price point and effects, I’d totally repurchase it! Check out more Sexylook reviews here.
