How to use: Once or twice a week after cleansing, while face is still wet, take an appropriate amount of gel mask and spread an thin even layer onto face, avoiding eyes and lips. After 10 minutes, rinse off with lukewarm water and finish with cold water.
50 ml of gel mask came in a sturdy plastic squat jar with Belif’s signature packaging shape where the screw-top black lid is slightly narrower that the rest of the body.
I appreciate the inclusion of an inner lid to further prevent air from getting in and speeding up the oxidization process. It even comes with a tiny tab for ease of removal!
Upon removing the inner lid, I was greeted with Belif’s signature herbal scent. It is one of the more pleasant smelling herbal scents with notes of peppermint. I wish they made the scent into a fragrance, I’d totally throw my money at it.
The light brown gel mask felt thick and had dark brown bits suspended in it. These are the chamomile flower petals. They felt extremely soft and blended in perfectly with the gel mask, giving no texture at all on its own. Hence, it will not provide any sort of physical exfoliation.
The gel felt very soft and luxurious. It glides easily across the skin when I spread it with fingers.
My skin is feeling dry and slightly irritated. It’s also looking a little dull from the sun exposure I was subjected to during a fun-filled weekend. I’ve cleansed my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
There was a cooling sensation the instant the product touched my skin. The gel was thick enough to stay put and did not cause a drippy mess. I did not experience any irritation or sensitivities during the entire 10 mins. In fact, I enjoyed the scent so much I was reluctant to rinse it off. Some of the gel mask seemed to have absorbed into my skin prior to rinsing.
I splashed my skin with lukewarm water and massage the gel mask on my face to emulsify it and also to milk its effects as much as possible before flushing it down the drain.
I was surprised as how supple and hydrated my skin felt after toweling off. There was no tight nor stretchy sensation, so I had time to slowly pat in the products in my skincare routine. My skin looked more radiant with a lit-from-within glow. Redness was also slightly minimized. From the pictures, I also noticed that my pores were blurred.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I absolutely love how quick and effective this mask is. Perfect for days when I have a packed schedule yet do not want to compromise on skincare. It will be even more enjoyable in the summer months when my skin gets hotter, oilier and easily irritated. 50 g of product will last me around 20 uses, making the price per use really low and affordable. This is my favorite Belif mask so far. Check out more Belif reviews here.
