23 Years Old is a brand that has never let me down, despite their excessive use of packaging. They’re most famous for their mouthless masks.
23 Years Old Sitra Dermaseal Mask helps to moisturize, calm, and balance skin. It is targeted at skin that is oily on the outside and dry on the inside. That sounds just like my dehydrated skin. Since it is unable to retain hydration, my skin overcompensates by producing more oil which does not solve the inherent issue of hydration-loss.
sea buckthron oil – full of Omega and Vitamins, it strengthens the skin and forms a refreshing moisture film and create a glowy radiance on the skin
My skin is feeling dry and slightly irritated. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a faint plastic-like scent. I was surprised to pull out a wad of yellow folded sheet mask. It was most probably tinted by the yellow essence. The material felt very unique! It’s thin, slightly stretchy and reminded me of wet packaging tissue. Held together by a thin fabric backing, this unique material is actually egg membrane!
The hydrolyzed egg membrane works to treat the skin, while also allowing the skin pores to absorb all the nutrients and provide maximum moisture retention.
The essence had a runny consistency and was dripping off the sheet mask as I was putting it on. 33 g of essence is alot so there was a whole palm full of essence left in the packet. To prevent wastage, I slathered this all over my neck, arms and legs.
Fit was above average. It was a small sheet so it only covered the inner perimeters of my face. The holes were too small for my features. If you look closely, you’re able to see the cuts I made to the sides of my nose to flatten the nose tent.
Adherence was great! So great that it kinda made application challenging. The moment the material touched my skin, it clung on for its dear life and refused to let go. Adjusting for fit took me longer than usual. Otherwise, it stayed put throughout the entire masking session.
I took the mask off after 25 mins, it was still damp.
The leftover essence patted in with ease. My skin felt deeply hydrated. But without a moisturizing film on top, I could feel my dehydration-prone skin losing water quickly. A moisturizer was required to seal everything in. Finish was silky and just slightly tacky.
I also noticed my skin looking fairer and lighter. There was a slight calming effect, redness had gone down a little. Pores were also looking slightly smaller.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
This is an amazing mask for combination skin for daily use and and oily skin for night use. It delivered hydration deep within the skin and not just on the surface. Dry skin might not benefit much from this, they’ll need a more emollient-type mask. Check out more 23 Years Old reviews here.
