Ariul Kale & Grapefruit Juice Cleanse Mask

Review: Ariul Kale & Grapefruit Juice Cleanse Mask ★★★★.☆

Ariul Kale & Grapefruit Juice Cleanse Mask claims to brighten hyperpigmented skin with ingredients like kale, grapefruit, and other fruits and veggies extracts.

This variant is one of four masks in Ariul’s Juice Cleanse series that uses the principle of a nutritious juice cleanse. The four variants are:

For a brightening sheet mask, it is important to have ingredients targeted at dullness listed right at the top. This one definitely met the requirement with niacinamide (3rd), kale extract (10th), and grapefruit extract (11th) being in the top of the list. Other beneficial ingredients include hyaluronic acid (8th) and honey extract (12th).

Before masking

My skin is feeling a tad dry and looking slightly red overall, not too bad. There are a couple of budding pimple along my jawline and outer cheek that are red, sensitive, and sore to the touch. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Material

Out of the packet, I caught the standard sheet mask fragrance. The natural corn leaf fiber material felt thick, stiff, and rough. It did not come with a backing.

Essence

Essence had a runny milky consistency. Despite having only 20 ml of essence, there was still alot left over after taking out the mask. I happyly slathered the extras all over my neck and body.

During masking

Fit was average, the eye holes were too small. People with larger eyes will find this irritating. There was a large gap around the nose flap, my nose is pretty flat so I have no issues with it, but people with a taller nose bridge might find a larger part of their nose uncovered. However, I do like that the mask was long enough to both cover my entire forehead as well as cup my chin.

Adherence was average as well, as expected from a material this rough and thick. It clung on for the most part but air bubbles starting surfacing and edges started to lift up during the masking process.

I took the sheet mask off after 30 mins, it was drying out.

After masking

After patting in the essence, my skin had a silky-looking and velvety-feeling finish. Skin felt soft, smooth, plump, hydrated, and moisturized. Skin was looking alot less red and pores were also less obvious. The irritation spots where pimples were struggling to come to head were hurting less and also looking less red. Surprisingly, I did not see any brightening effects.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

I’m very impressed with this sheet mask! It’s super affordable and very accessible. Once I get past the awful material and bad fit, I actually do highly recommend all skin types to give it a try. Check out more Ariul reviews here.
