Glycyrrhizae extract and Vitamin C revitalizes tired skin that lacks elasticity. Vitamin Complex A,B,C,E,F,H, peptides, collagen, and anemarrhena asphodeloides root extract works deep to provide calm, moisturized, plump, and healthy looking skin. I was surprised to find retinol listed as the 10th ingredient. It is a vitamin A derivative that unclog pores, boost collagen to reduce fine lines, and speed cell turnover to even out discoloration and smooth the skin. It is highly reactive to sunlight so please make sure to apply sunscreen if you intend to use this in the day.

Note: The brand recommends this mask for makeup wearers in order to help prime and prep the skin for foundation and long makeup wear.

Before masking

My skin is feeling dry and dehydrated. There are also a couple of pimples along my jawline and outer cheek that are red, sensitive, and sore to the touch. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Out of the packet, I detected a strong perfume fragrance, as if I had just stepped into a department store.

The microfiber sheet felt thick but was also plush and very soft. It was completely drenched in clear gel essence. Despite containing a whopping 35 g of essence, there was hardly any left in the packet.

During masking

Fit was great! The holes were of a good size and were perfectly lined up with my features. The sheet was also large enough to have some excess on the sides on my face.

Adherence was great, thanks to the tacky gel essence.

I took the mask off after 45 mins, it was still damp.

After masking

There was lots of essence left to massage into my skin, it absorbed/dried down with ease. It left behind a slightly tacky and dewy-looking finish.

My skin felt extremely hydrated and moisturized, there was no need for a moisturizer on my combo skin. I did not notice any visible brightening but my skin did look plump and significantly plumper. Skin texture also looked smoother with smaller pores and less obvious expression lines.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

I think this mask is suitable for all skin types. Oily skin might find this too icky so I suggest wiping down the excess essence with a toner-soaked cotton pad. It is rare for me to find a sheet mask that both hydrates and moisturizes. If you are also looking for a mask like that, I recommend checking this out. More Belborn reviews here.
