Review: Innisfree My Real Squeeze Mask – Rose ★★★★.☆
Made from 100% biodegradable eucalyptus fibers, Innisfree’s new My Real Squeeze Sheet Mask collection is their latest earth-friendly innovation. The launch was held on Earth Day, April 15th, as a testament to their sustainable living commitment. The #IGIVEASHEET campaign was also introduced, where people are asked to share the environmental issues that they care about.
Personally, I think this is a very worthwhile initiative to support. Earth is our only home and we live in it, what wouldn’t we do to protect our home?
I’m personally passionate about the issue of water pollution, particularly since I’m an avid consumer of seafood. I get so riled up and mad when I see water bodies filled with trash or grease. Earth is made up of 75% water. Just because we are not water creatures does not mean that the destruction of water bodies will not affect us. How can people be so selfish and short-sighted? That’s why I’m really glad that more companies like Innisfree are coming up with environmentally-friendly ways to take care of our skin.
This PR package of 7 sheet mask was presented like a notebook, with a sheet mask on each page and a little detail about its functionality. Have a browse in the slider above.
The My Real Squeeze Mask collection comes in 3 different consistencies: water (light & fresh), essence (deeply hydrating), and cream (intensely nourishing).
There are a total of 18 variants, of which the new ones are:
The one I chose to review today is the rose variant. It claims to give a brighter and smoother complexion with rose flower juice as the main ingredient. It also contains centella asiatica and chamomile extracts for skin soothing, hyaluronic acid and camellia leaf extract for hydrating purposes. All ingredients went through the cold-pressed extraction method to maximize their benefits. The entire line is free of phenoxyethanol, a type of preservative that may cause skin sensitivities to some people who have known allergies.
My skin is feeling dehydrated today. There are also a couple of healing pimples along my jawline and outer cheek that look like brown spots. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a beautiful rose fragrance. The scent reminded me of a rose toner, very fresh and not pungent at all.
The new biodegradable material felt soft and was way thinner than the previous It’s Real Masks. It did not comp with a backing. Essence was clear and had a runny consistency but wasn’t dripping from the sheet mask as I was putting it on.
Fit was great! It was just the right size for my face without any excess on the sides. The holes were perfectly lined up with my features. My only tiny gripe was the size of the eye holes, I wish they were just a tad taller. I have medium-sized eyes and I still found them too small. The little tabs on either sides of my forehead were meant for easy application and removal of the sheet mask. I personally find those nice to have, but not a must-have.
Adherence was great! Fold lines stayed down with no air bubbles surfacing through the entire masking session.
I took the mask off after 30 mins, it was turning white and drying out. I’d recommend not leaving it on for more than 25 mins.
Patting in the remaining essence felt like I was smoothing on a hydrating serum. It felt comfortable and hydrating. Finish had a dewy look and was slightly tacky.
My skin felt very hydrated and moisturized. Skin also looked bright and with a smooth texture and smaller pores, which proved the claims to be true! Redness reduction was slight at first, but it eventually disappeared throughout the day. A moisturizer was optional but I applied a thin gel just to seal in all that goodness.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I’m very impressed with Innisfree’s new masks! Couldn’t say the same for the previous It’s Real masks. I think this particular variant is suitable for dry to combo skin, oily skin might find the finish too icky and may require a wipe down with a toner-soaked cotton. I’m excited to try out the other variants! They are super affordable too! Check out more Innisfree reviews here.
