CY Lab Triple Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Mask claims to provide deep hydration and moisturization for dry and sensitive skin. It contains different-sized hyaluronic acid molecules to effectively hydrate skin from the inside out. Saccharide isomerate is present to lock in all that moisture. I was really surprised at the short list of only 8 ingredients with water (normally the first ingredient) at the very end. This meant that the concentrations of hyaluronic acid and saccharide isomerate are higher than water, which makes this sheet mask super value-for-money.
One thing to note about the packaging. I found it confusing to have all 3 variants listed on the same packet. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the only way to find out which one you’re using is to look for a circle sticker next to the name. I guess it’s a pretty smart way to save money on packaging material.
My skin is feeling dehydrated and slightly sensitive. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a mild fragrance that reminded me of apple juice. I’m not sure what’s giving off this delightful smell since fragrance wasn’t an ingredient on the list. The cotton sheet mask felt very soft and was super thin, almost silk-like. It came with a perforated plastic backing to hold its shape and aid with the application. Essence was clear and had a runny consistency.
Fit was really strange. I liked that the sheet was large enough to cover my entire face, up to my hairline. However, the eye holes were taller than they were wide and the material that was supposed to go on my philtrum ended up on my lips. So I had to shift the entire lower portion upwards, resulting in material gathering around my lower cheeks. Thanks to the softness of the material, it was really easy to manipulate it for fit.
Adherence was great thanks to how thin the material was. It clung onto my skin the entire time without lifting or introducing any air bubbles.
I took the mask off after 30 mins, it was starting to dry out and turn white around the edges.
The remaining essence patted in with ease. In doing so, I felt a cooling sensation which was such a relief to my slightly irritated skin. Finish was non-tacky and looked silky.
My skin felt very hydrated and slightly moisturized. My combo skin could get away without a moisturizer for day masking but will need one for the night. Dry skin might find the moisturization insufficient whereas oily skin might find the levels of hydration and moisturization perfect.
The greatest improvement I saw was to my skin tone. My skin looked very bright and radiant, which made my dark eye rings even more pronounced. Redness was completely gone and PIE and PIH were reduced. Skin texture also looked much smoother with plumped up fine lines and reduced pore size. Skin felt baby soft and bouncy.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
