Before masking

My skin is feeling balanced and normal today. Redness and acne are at bay so I’m focusing on anti-aging and brightening. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Out of the packet, I caught a mild fragrance.

The sheet mask material had a light yellow tinge and did not come with a backing. It had a medium thickness and softness. The environmentally-friendly fabric is made of natural cellulose and plant-derived Sikandra fabric to hold and maintain the essence.

Essence was clear and had a watery-oil consistency. There was so much essence that I was able to apply it all over my body as well as re-wet the mask to prolong the masking session.

During masking

Fit was great! The sheet was large enough to cover my entire forehead and cup my chin. There were also a couple of slits to aid with the fit. The holes were of the right size for my Asian features. There was only a slight amount of excess fabric on the sides so larger face shapes might find the width insufficient.

Adherence was average. The sheet stay put the entire time but fold lines were lifted and thus introducing some air bubbles under the sheet.

I removed the mask after 40 mins, it was still very damp because I’d re-wetted it halfway through the masking session.

After masking

There was lots of essence left on my skin. My skin felt intensely hydrated and moisturized. So much so that any remaining essence on my skin wasn’t able to absorb or dry down anymore. Finish was thus very greasy and very dewy. In order to get rid of the greasy and icky sensation on my combo skin, I removed the excess essence with a toner-soaked cotton pad. Hence, I do not recommend this for oily skin. Dry skin on the other hand, will absolutely love this.

I also noticed my skin looking super healthy and radiant. Redness was completely gone, skin felt soft and smooth to the touch, and skin texture looked smooth and with smaller pores. My skin looked and felt like it had just gone through a luxurious spa session!

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

Apart from the overly-greasy finish, which can be easily resolved with a toner-soaked cotton pad, the mask worked wonders on my skin. The price point is on the verge of being pricey but I don’t mind stocking up on them for cold winter nights.
