The Evercos range of premium sheet masks are infused with different hanbang (traditional herbal medicine) ingredients to reveal a brighter and revitalized complexion in as little as 15 minutes. Phellinus mushroom, or Sang Hwang, essence helps regain skin’s lost vitality and provides elasticity by adjusting the balance of sebum secretion. I have a bias towards anything hanbang as I grew up drinking lots of herbal soups lovingly brewed by my late grandmother. Plus, hanbang skincare have always worked amazingly on me and I really love the scent. Hence I have lots of positive feelings towards it.
My skin is feeling balanced and normal today. There was only some slight redness but no sensitivity. I’ve cleansed, exfoliated, and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Each Evercos mask is made of 100% cellulose, which adheres closely to the skin, hugging facial contours for better penetration of active essence and prolonged moisture retention. The material looked like a bandage gauze and had a medium thickness and softness. It did not come with a backing.
The clear gel essence completely drenched and coated the sheet as I fished it out of the packaging. It was also giving off a rather strong fragrance that had a slight tinge of herbal scent added in.
Fit and adherence were great! The holes were of the right size, at least for my Asian features they are. The sheet was also large enough to cover my entire face as well as cup my chin. I did not notice any air bubbles surfacing throughout the wear. Fold lines did not pop up and the sides were not lifted at all.
I took the mask off after 35 mins, it was already drying out.
The leftover essence patted into my skin. Finish was tacky and dewy at first but after 15 mins or so, it dried down to have a velvety feel and semi-matte look.
My skin felt sufficiently hydrated and moisturized. There was no need for a moisturizer on my combo skin. Dry skin types might require a cream moisturizer over this while oily skin may be able to use this for both morning and night.
My skin felt soft and smooth. Aside from the slightly dewier finish, I did not notice any calming or brightening effects on my skin.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
Compared to its Ginseng counterpart, this mask performed pretty poorly. It still did deliver hydration to my skin but if I could pay the same price and get a better mask, I would avoid this. Check out more Evercos reviews here.
