Mad Hippie Eye Cream

Mad Hippie Eye Cream

15ml / 0.5 fl oz of product comes in an opaque plastic bottle with an airless pump. To keep things hygienic, it also comes with a cap over the pump. The only thing I didn’t like is the inability to tell how much product is left in the bottle and whether I need to stock up. But that is the trade off of protecting the active ingredients from going rancid via light exposure.

I love the simple, clean, and fun design of the product label.

Mad Hippie Eye Cream

A full pump dispenses way too much product for both eyes. The amount you see on my finger is acquired through a gentle push on the pump, not even halfway. It took me a couple of tries to figure out the appropriate amount needed for my eyes.

The eye cream comes out white with a lotion consistency and texture. It gives off a moderately strong fragrance that resembled a combination of talcum powder and flowers. The fragrance does linger and as someone with a sensitive nose, I found it pretty annoying.

The main issues pertaining to the skin around my eyes are first signs of fine lines and omnipresent dark circles. I’ve totally given up on my dark circles as they are genetic and nothing I do ever helped with diminishing them. I have a bad habit of squinting when I’m focusing and I’m doing it now as I type this. As such, fine lines are creeping their way in. As a 30-year-old, I’m pretty lucky to not have crows feet yet considering my bad habit. Nevertheless, prevention is key.

With the amount shown on my finger tip 2 pictures above, I’ll dot them around my eye area as such. These are the acupoints or stimulus points that I normally tap on during eye cream application. This way, I get to give myself a relaxing eye massage while hydrating the area.

After tapping the area around my eyes for 5 rounds, the eye cream is pretty much absorbed. Finish was non-greasy and non-tacky, definitely without the heaviness that results in milia seeds. Immediately, the skin around my eyes felt firm and plump. This is a nice surprise as I’ve never had an eye cream actually plumping the skin around my eyes. I’ve always had low expectations of eye creams and only considered them as basic moisturizers.

After 2 weeks of using this eye cream in my morning and evening routines, I definitely see an improvement. The fine lines around my eyes are not as prominent as before, giving way to smooth skin. And much to my surprise, even my dark circles are slightly lighter in color.

Overall, it seems like its awards are justified. Results are impressive on my skin only after 2 weeks. A little goes a long way and with my usage, I estimate finishing the bottle in 5 months. That made the price of this product pretty affordable in my opinion.
