Review: Annie’s Way Lavender + Chamomile Soothing Mask ★★★★★
Annie’s Way is a Taiwanese brand and this mask is part of their latest Fantasy Land series which consists of 6 other sheet masks with beautiful whimsical packaging. They’re all have the feather light, invisible silk material, just like the ones in the silk mask series with plainer packaging.
Annie’s Way Lavender + Chamomile Soothing Mask aims to soothe and calm skin. Both lavender and chamomile extracts relieves stress, relaxes and calms skin while repairing its damage. Lavender is also known to give off a scent that relaxes the mind and body. Hence the brand recommends using this mask at night. Other key ingredients include:
Panthenol – promotes wound healing, reduces itching and inflammation
Hyaluronic acid – deeply hydrates skin and maintains moisture levels within the skin
My skin is feeling normal to oily as the days get hotter. The heat is also causing my skin to flush and show more redness, with a slight sensitivity. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a moderately strong lavender scent, which I very much enjoyed and found therapeutic. Essence was clear and runny.
The tencel material felt just like silk. It was light, extremely thin, and extremely soft. It came with a thick perforated plastic backing to hold its shape and also to aid in the application. Place the sheet mask on your face, then peel off the backing from the outside. This prevents the mask from curling up and sticking onto itself, which is a disaster because it is almost impossible to unfold that mess.
Fit was great! Mainly due to the softness of the material, I was able to easily manipulate it to fit my face. My only complaint how small the mouth hole was. It was literally a slit. Granted, I could push it up to make space for my mouth, but still, it felt constrained and uncomfortable.
Adherence was also great! Again, it’s thanks to the softness of the material. Once the material touched my skin, it clung for its dear life and refused to budge.
I had this on for 30 mins, it was still surprisingly damp. There was a slight cooling sensation throughout, giving my flushed skin much needed relief on this rather sunny day.
Just like the Tea Tree + Burdock that scored 5 stars from me, this mask performed amazingly on my skin!
Redness was completely gone.
Skin looked radiant and bright.
PIE and PIH were faded.
Skin texture looked smooth with blurred pores.
My skin also felt baby soft and very hydrated and nicely moisturized. Finish was semi-matte and non-tacky. But it doesn’t completely lack moisture either. My skin felt balanced and healthy.
This is perfect on my combo skin in the day time. I’d have to layer on a moisturizer if I were to use this at night. Oily skin will enjoy this no matter the time of the day. Dry skin will definitely require a hydrating serum and moisturizer after masking.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I thoroughly enjoyed this mask! From the scent to the light material to the effects. Annie’s Way usually makes excellent masks and I already had high expectations prior to using this. Even then, I was still taken aback by the astounding effects. It is highly affordable and gives a good bang for your buck! Check out more Annie’s Way reviews here.
