Review: Bring Green Kale Purifying Fresh Mask ★★★.☆
Bring Green is a brand developed by Olive Young, the Sephora of K-Beauty. I’m not sure if this is new, but this is the first time I’ve seen this brand and their offerings. I love starting off a new brand with either sheet masks or toners. I believe they make a good introduction into a particular brand’s quality and whether it suits my skin type.
Bring Green Kale Purifying Fresh Mask contains a whopping 500,000 ppm (50%) of kale leaf extract, 1,000 ppm (0.1%) of centella asiatica extract, and 3,500 ppm (0.35%) of moisture complex. With the leafy greenness, the sheet mask claims to deliver energy and refreshment to tired skin.
kale leaf extract – the vitamin K in kale helps to ‘tightens’ the skin, thereby reducing fine lines and wrinkles
centella asiatica extract – soothes and calms red and inflamed skin
My skin is feeling normal to oily as the days get hotter. The heat is also causing my skin to flush and show more redness, with a slight sensitivity. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I detected a moderately strong ‘fresh’ scent. The cotton tencel material felt very unique. It has a medium thinness and felt very smooth and soft. It did not come with a backing but was pretty easy to unfold and apply. The weaving on the material looked like a bandage gauze. Essence was clear and runny. There was hardly any left in the packet after removing the sheet mask.
Fit was great! The size of the sheet was just nice for my face. The holes were of the right size and positioned well with my features. My only (tiny) complaint is the amount of material above my lip (philtrum) The piece there was too large on me and covered my upper lip. This was slightly uncomfortable so I cut it down the middle and folded it upwards.
Adherence was above average. The sheet stayed put for the most park but fold lines did not stay flat the whole time. They lifted and caused the edges to also lift. This introduced some air bubbles underneath the sheet mask.
I took the mask off after 30 mins. It was drying out with material around my chin hanging loose.
My skin felt very hydrated and moisturized. Unlike most masks with intense hydration and moisturization, this one did not come with a highly tacky or greasy finish. Finish felt only a slight bit tacky and looked silky. I was very satisfied with this aspect of the mask. All skin types will enjoy it.
Calming and brightening effects were above average. They were noticeable but not intensely so.
Skin texture looked very smooth from the intense plumping effects. Pores and fine lines looked less obvious.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I’m overall satisfied with this mask. My skin is not having any major issues so the effects are not particularly prominent but it’s not bad either. I especially enjoyed the finish even though the effects were just above average. The ingredients list look good and is suitable for sensitive skin.
