Company history Based on the 30 years experience in cosmetics field, we have created brand-new skin care cosmetics which is ‘Supiyo’.
Birch (Betula Alba Leaf Water 77%), dubbed as the “Queen of the forest”, is known for its skin healing and purifying properties, it also functions as an astringent.
Chaga (Inonotus Obliquus Mushroom Extract (3%) is a nourishing and antioxidant-rich ingredient that nourishes skin
Centella Asiatica, Beta-Glucan, and Allantoin help soothe and speed up the healing of skin irritated by environmental aggressors
Aside from the ingredients listed above, the toner also contains a variety of essential oils. If you have a known allergy to essential oils, please avoid this product. My skin loves essential oils for the gentle hydration they provide. It also helps that they give the product a natural scent without having to resort to artificial fragrance.
The ingredient list rated very safe on CosDNA. That is something my sensitive combo skin is very cautious about. I’m relieved to see that the this toner also doubles up as a natural astringent due to the properties of Birch and not alcohol. My combo skin needs balancing but alcohol is not the way to go. I’m sure my fellow alcohol-avoiders can concur!
300 ml of tea-colored toner came in a jumbo, sturdy, clear plastic bottle. The dispenser is a regular toner pinhole. Due to the runny consistency of the toner, dispensing the product was super easy. In fact, it it was so easy that I usually get more than what I intended. This resulted in spillage and wastage. To address the issue, I decanted the toner into a spray bottle. This allowed me to get the exact amount I intended every time, and also use it like a mist.
My husband and I adore the herbal, botanical scent with a hint of menthol. It is not overwhelming but not faint either. It quickly disappears upon patting into the skin
I have tried 5 different ways of using this toner:
right after cleansing, pour into hand and pat into face
7-skin method right after cleansing
right after cleansing, pour into cotton pad and swipe over face
soak 4 cotton pads for a quick masking session
decant into a spray bottle for a refreshing mist throughout the day
All 4 methods share these immediate commonalities:
matte finish with no residue
split second minty cool sensation which led to a calming effect
I’ve been testing this toner for 2 weeks, incorporating it in my morning and evening routines. There are no long-term effects to speak of yet but I foresee this toner maintaining the suppleness and hydration that’s required for healthy skin. Also, the presence of botanical extracts and absence of plain ol’ water makes this feel more like an essence than a toner.
This jumbo-sized toner is highly affordable and would last me a long time even with 5 different ways of using it. It is light and gentle enough for all skin types all year round.
I am glad I took the chance to try this out with the brand being new to me and all. But I was thoroughly impressed and can’t wait to see what other products the brand has to offer.
