Review: Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Deep Moisture Water Mask ★★★★☆
Featuring 600 milligrams of hyaluronic acid as the main ingredient, Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Deep Moisture Water Mask aims to keep skin hydrated, moisturized, and vibrant. It contains 3 types of hyaluronic acids including sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, and sodium acetylated hyaluronate to supply and hold moisture to every layer of the skin.
This mask only contains healthy and skin-friendly ingredients that are verified by EWG’s Skin Deep. It is also formulated without potentially sensitizing ingredients like paraben, phenoxyethanol, artificial and synthetic dyes, artificial fragrance, formaldehyde, imidazolidinyl urea, essential oils, mineral oils, petrolatum, sodium laureth sulfate, benzophenone, avobenzone, butylated hydroxytoluene, isopropyl alcohol, Paraffin, triethanolamine, chlorphenesin, and triisopropanolamine.
My skin is feeling normal to oily as the days get hotter, it’s still prone to dehydration nevertheless. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a faint neutral fragrance. There was an abundance of clear, watery-gel essence. I spread some of it all over my face prior to applying the sheet mask. I was also able to get a second masking session out of the leftover essence by soaking a dried mask pellet in the packet.
According to the brand, the mask material is a patented MG:gel sheet that was produced by gelatin of natural moisturizer. It comes with a thick fabric backing. Place the gel side of the sheet on the face, then using the tabs, remove the “release paper” that was holding the mask together.
My experience was a weird one. Tried as I might, I was unable to remove the fabric backing. Upon consulting with Margaret of Melody Cosme, she was able to remove the backing off her mask with ease. So either I got a defective product or defective hands.
I decided to leave the backing on and make the most out of it.
My opinions on the fit and adherence of the mask is inaccurate based on my inability to remove the outer paper.
Fit was great as the sheet was large enough to cover my entire face with some excess to spare. The holes were of the right size and positions too.
Adherence was bad, again, due to the presence of the outer paper. The stiffness of the material made it impossible for the mask to mould to the contours of my features. As such, there were plenty of lifts and air bubbles.
I took the mask off after 30 mins, during which I was still trying to remove the “release paper” but to no avail.
I patted in the remaining essence, it absorbed at a moderate pace. Finish was highly tacky at first but slowly dried down into something more comfortable.
Despite the mishap, I still got good results from the mask. My skin felt intensely hydrated and appropriately moisturized. It had more of a water bomb sensation than a hydrating film. As such, I think this is suitable for all skin types.
The greatest improvement I saw was to my skin texture. My skin looked and felt like it drank an entire bucket of water! Pores looked smaller and fine lines were less obvious. My skin texture looked very smooth and juicy.
Calming and brightening effects were also great. My skin looked temporarily lighter in tone and redness was completely gone.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
The mask was able to impress me and give me healthy skin despite me not being able reap 100% of its benefits. I would like to give this mask another go and perhaps, give it full marks next time. Check out more Isntree reviews here.
