Review: AM Piggyhead Madou Firming and Soothing Sheet Mask ★★★.☆
AM Piggyhead Madou Firming and Soothing Sheet Mask aims to reverse signs of aging and calm irritated skin with aloe vera, hyaluronic acid, rose water, and witch hazel. It is great for people who have sensitive skin and are suffering from acne, but also want to slow down aging in the mean time.
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice – soothes skin and serves as an anti-inflammatory ingredient
Hyaluronic Acid – deeply hydrates skin and keeps moisture within skin
Rose Water – helps maintain the skin’s pH balance and controls excess sebum
Witch Hazel – a natural astringent can help control acne by reducing inflammation and decreasing oil and redness
My skin is feeling normal to oily as the days get hotter. My skin is also looking a little more flushed than usual. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a faint sweet-smelling scent. Essence was clear and runny. The 100% silk sheet felt soft and super thin. It wasn’t as soft as Annie’s Way’s silk sheets but they were pretty close. It came with a perforated plastic backing and was dripping wet with essence.
Fit was great! The sheet came in a multitude of deep cuts, which greatly aided in adjusting to get the best fit. The sheet was also large enough to cover my entire face .
Adherence was great thanks to the soft and thin sheet. There were no air bubbles introduced under the sheet and lifts were kept to a minimum.
Throughout the entire masking process, essence was continually dripping onto my shirt. Soon, the material around my forehead starting to show signs of drying way before the rest of the sheet. Hence, I poured the excess essence from the packet onto my forehead to re-wet the area.
I took the mask off after 30 mins, it was still slightly damp.
The remaining essence patted in with ease. Finish was tacky at first but quickly dried down to a velvety-soft feel with a silky look. It was a very comfortable finish on my combo skin.
My skin had a moderate-high level of hydration with a moderate-low amount of amount of moisture. This perfectly balanced out my dehydration-prone combo skin. As such, this is also suitable for oily skin. Dry skin can use this as more of a toner mask due the thin essence.
My skin also looked moderately calm with an equally moderate but temporary brightening effect. The greatest improvement I noticed was how soft my skin felt. It may not be as plump as I’d like but I couldn’t stop feeling my skin and marveling at the smoothness.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
This mask did what it claimed to do but only partially. I was impressed by how soft my skin was but would still rate this an overall average mask. Check out more AM Piggy Head reviews here.
