Review: Frudia Brightening Bursting Energy Citrus Brightening Mask ★★★.☆
Frudia Brightening Bursting Energy Citrus Brightening Mask contains 46% of Jeju Tangerine extract and other botanical extracts to give skin a luminous radiance. Jeju Tangerine is rich in Vitamin C and has the ability to fight discoloration and brighten skin tone without being irritating. Instead of having ‘Water’ listed as the first ingredient, as with most masks, Frudia’s masks are composed of supercharged skincare with waterless formulas and organic fruit-derived extracts. That, the low price point, and ease of accessibility to Frudia’s masks are what made me go back to them quite often.
My skin is feeling pretty normal, sebum production wise. It’s redder than usual but no sensitivity. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a strong citrus fragrance. To me, it’s like orange-scented car fragrance, too strong and overwhelming.
The sheet was unevenly soaked in milky essence, so I spread the it around the sheet with my finger. The nature-derived botanical sheet felt soft and had a medium thickness. Since it was a natural sheet, it had a light brown tint to it instead of white. It also came with a thin netted backing for easy application.
There was a palm full of milky essence left in the packet after I’ve removed the sheet mask. I was able to slather this all over my body.
Fit was great! It covered most of my forehead and cupped my chin when most sheet masks don’t. There was some slight excess on the sides to cater to people with wider faces. I can see this fitting most face shapes.
Adherence was good. There was some lifts around my chin area. I was able to smooth out all the air bubbles and no new ones were introduced. It clung on even tighter as time wore by.
I took the mask off after 30 mins, it was still damp.
There was lots of essence left on my skin. It patted in and absorbed with ease, leaving behind a semi-matte finish with a velvety, non-tacky feel.
My skin felt very hydrated with a moderate to intense moisturization. It felt just a tad greasy on my combo skin but after fanning my face for a bit, the essence did continue to dry down to a more comfortable finish. I think this is suitable for oily skin for night use. Dry skin will enjoy the moisturizing finish.
My skin felt better than it looked. Visually, there wasn’t much of my improvement, aside for some mild reduction in redness. I was surprised at the lack of brightening in my skin tone. But my face felt alot smoother, softer, and silkier.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I think this is more of a mask for non-sufferers of uneven skin tone and discoloration. It did not do what it claimed to do but it did a great job of softening and smoothing my skin. I’m not sure what to think of it. I’d still prefer to get the blueberry variant as it’s more of an all-rounder. Check out more Frudia reviews here.
