Review: Nature Republic Real Comforting Mask Sheet – Tea Tree ★★★★★

Nature Republic Real Comforting Mask Sheet

Nature Republic Real Comforting Mask Sheet is the latest Spring 2018 addition to the brand’s range of products. These sheet masks are formulated with naturally-derived essential oil to offer mild, comfortable daily care for healthy skin. Please avoid this if you have a known allergy to essential oils. The collection features 8 types of sheet masks with 2 types of essence textures.

Ampoule type:

  • Hyaluronic Acid: Providing moisture and hydration to dry skin.
  • Tea Tree: Controls excessive sebum and soothes sensitive skin.
  • AHA/BHA: Smoothen rough, uneven skin texture by removing dead skin cells and sebum.
  • Vitamin C: Brightens dull and lifeless skin

Emulsion type:

  • Ceramide: Soothes rough skin caused by lack of moisture by forming a moisture film over skin.
  • Madecassoside: Gently soothes sensitive skin by stabilizing skin condition.
  • Panthenol: Strengthens skin barrier and maintains healthy skin condition.
  • Vitamin E: Moisturizes and conditions dry skin.

The one I’m trying out today features tea tree as the main ingredient. It claims to control excessive sebum and soothe sensitive skin.

Tea tree oil is a popular choice for treating acne because of its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It’s thought to calm redness, swelling, and inflammation. It may even help to prevent and reduce acne scars, leaving you with smooth, clear skin. Rose flower extract and allantoin are included to soothe and hydrate skin.

Before masking

My skin is feeling normal to oily, sebum production wise. It’s redder than usual and also sporting a few red bumps. They look like impending deep cystic acne. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Out of the packet, I caught a faint tea tree scent. The cottony material had a medium thinness and felt plush, soft, and smooth. It did not come with a backing. Essence had a watery-gel consistency and was in abundance.

During masking

Fit was great! It was a very large sheet so no worries about uncovered skin there. There was even some excess on the sides when worn on my face. I’m also satisfied with the size and positioning of the holes. The sheet was soft enough to easily manipulate for fit.

Adherence was great! There were no air bubbles nor lifts. The sheet clung on pretty well and did not move or slip at all.

I took the mask off after 30 mins, it was starting to dry out. It seemed to cling on tighter the drier it got.

After masking

The remaining essence patted in with ease. Finish was non-tacky and looked silky.

My skin felt nicely hydrated and moisturized. It was the perfect amount for my combo skin. As such, I think all skin types will enjoy this.

The greatest improvement I saw was to the calmness of my skin. The red bumps have greatly diminished in size and looking less red. Skin tone also looked even and radiant.

My pores also looked smaller thanks to the plumping effects of this mask.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

I’m impressed with this sheet mask and would recommend it to all skin types! Can’t wait to try out more variants from the line! Check out more Nature Republic reviews here.
