The sheet masks in Jayjun’s Honey Dew range contains the synergistic effect of manuka honey and propolis to help prevent skin oxidation and provides dry and rough skin with rich nutrients. This particular variant, Honey Dew Green Mask has a Green Complex that includes five different extracts (green tea, avocado leaf, kiwi, Japanese apricot, spinach) to help soothe irritated skin and creates moisturized skin.
Key ingredients and benefits:
Green Tea contains a powerful antioxidant called EGCG that fights DNA damage from UV rays to prevent skin cancer. That means it’s also a potent anti-aging ingredient that combats signs of aging when ingested or applied topically.
Avocado Leaf contains many properties such as antioxidant that can bring smoothness to your skin and keep it from aging.
Kiwi Fruit has vitamin C, which helps fight dark spots that are associated with both sun damage and aging, so skin looks more evenly toned.
Japanese Apricot is great for dry, irritated skin because of its high content of essential fatty acids and vitamin A.
Loaded with antioxidants to scavenge and destroy free radicals, Spinach Leaf Extract rejuvenates skin by slowing the aging process.
My skin is feeling normal to oily, sebum production wise. It’s sporting some redness but that’s normal since I have sensitive skin. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a moderately strong alcohol + honey scent. Essence was green and had a runny gel consistency. After retrieving the sheet mask, there was enough essence left over for my neck and arms.
The soft thin sheet was tinted green by the essence. It felt like cupra and did not come with a backing. Due to medium thin material, beginners at masking might find it a challenge to unfold. Application wasn’t that difficult once the sheet was entirely unfolded.
Fit was great! The holes were of the right size and perfectly lined up with my features. There was some slight excess material on the sides to cater to wider faces. The sheet was also long enough to cover almost my entire forehead and entirely cupped my chin. Thanks to the softness of the material, I was able to easily adjust for fit despite the scare slits.
Adherence was nearly great! There were some slight lifts from the fold lines but only teeny tiny air bubbles. The sheet clung on very well throughout the entire masking process.
I lost track of time and removed the mask after a whopping 40 mins, it was starting to dry out.
There was still some essence left to pat and massage into my skin. It did not absorb very quickly, leaving behind an immediate dewy and greasy finish. It did continue to gradually dry down and absorb to a more comfortable feel.
Despite having alcohol listed pretty high up on the INCI list, my skin felt intensely hydrated and moisturized. It felt a little too thick on my combo skin and did not require a moisturizer. Oily skin type should avoid as the greasiness could add burden to the skin. This mask is highly suitable for dry skin type and combo skin type at night.
The greatest improvement I notice was to the softness of my skin. It felt baby soft and smooth, I could not stop touching my skin. I normally get such an effect after using a physical scrub. But this mask achieved it without subjecting my skin to scrubbing.
My redness did reduce by about 50%. It did continue to subside and by the end of the day, I was left with around 20% of the redness that I started with. I did not notice any brightening effect and there was only a minor plumping effect.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
Jayjun masks have consistently performed very well on my skin. They give me an intense hydration and moisturization but were also able to address other concerns. They give a big bang for the buck and I can’t wait to try out the other variants in this Honey Dew line. Check out more Jayjun reviews here.
