I'm From Ginseng Mask

Review: I’m From Ginseng Mask ★★★.☆

The I’m From Ginseng Mask is a wash-off mask featuring Ginseng extract to deliver heat to the skin. As the heat transfers into the skin, it opens up the pores naturally in order to flush out harsh irritants and replenish the nutrients to smooth and restore youth to the skin.

Formulated with 3.97% concentrated ginseng extract, the Ginseng Mask is designed to naturally open up pores and deeply cleanse while replenishing the necessary nourishment for healthier, younger skin. It is also able to boost skin’s energy and restore elasticity.

Features:

  • The natural heating properties of ginseng opens the pores to release impurities, and aids the absorption of active ingredients.
  • Filling in the skin with nutrients where there once was impurities, this serum thoroughly hydrates the skin to make it shiny and healthy.
  • The highly-concentrated Ginseng extract tightly adheres to the skin, working to add elasticity to flat, lifeless skin.
  • The concentrated antioxidant properties of the Ginseng extract purifies skin that is fatigued from external stimuli and accumulated waste.

More about 6-year-old 3.97% Ginseng extract
Because ginseng extract is made with a moisture content of less than 14%, it is possible to store the taste, scent and active ingredients of ginseng in a concentrated state for a long time. Meticulous control of temperature, time and pressure is required until one ginseng is made into ginseng extract. Through this process, a new active ingredient unique to ginseng extract was discovered. The I’m from Ginseng Mask is formulated with the concentrate of high-quality ginseng extract at its purest.

My skin is feeling sensitive and even more prone to dehydration due to the sudden drop in temperatures. I’ve cleansed my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

How to use:

  • After cleansing, apply a generous amount evenly to the face.
  • Using the tips of your fingers, gently massage into the skin and you will feel the mask warming up.
  • After massaging for about 5-10 minutes, rinse with water. Make sure cleanse thoroughly with cool water.

The mask’s viscosity may vary based on the surrounding temperature. This is a natural occurrence due to the presence of ginseng extract, the mask’s main ingredient. If the consistency of the mask is too tough to work with, massage with slightly wet fingertips to soften the texture for easier use.

This wash-off mask had a dark honey color in the glass jar. On the skin, it had more of a golden honey glaze. Also like honey, its consistency is high viscous and looked sticky. It made scooping a little challenging as it could drip and make a mess. So either take small, multiple scoops during application or risk wasting product. I detected a strong floral-woody scent, which I really didn’t care for.

During masking

Aside from having to scoop out a tiny amount at a time to prevent drips, application was easy peasy. Once a serving was on my skin, I spread it out over my skin with my fingers. It glided evenly and smoothly without any tugging, due to its lack of stickiness despite how it looked. A thin layer is sufficient as a thick layer could result in drips. It looked like I had a glaze over my skin.

The moment I smoothed the mask out with my fingers, a light warming sensation started. It was very gentle and comforting, especially now that the weather was colder. The sensation gradually faded to nothing. By the 15-min mark, I reactivated it by gently massaging my skin. It washed off really easily, unlike most wash-off masks. There was no need to scrape off the excess product before rinsing.

After masking

After toweling off, my skin felt hydrated, almost like I’ve patted in 2 layers of toner. There was no tightening sensation. I also noticed a small brightening and redness-reducing effect. My pores did look slightly cleaner too. The firmness of my skin went unchanged but I think with continued use, the firming effect would be more obvious.

As someone with sensitive skin, I did not experience any sensitivity or irritation from using this wash-off mask.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

I definitely got a kick out of the warming effect of this mask. Ginseng is known for its anti-aging effects and I will definitely keep using this mask to reap its long-term benefits. Check out more I’m From reviews here.
