Wonjin Effect Amino Up 3-Step MaskBefore masking

My skin is feeling sensitive and even more prone to dehydration due to the sudden drop in temperatures. The bad air quality around the bay area is making things worse too. I’ve cleansed my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Step 1: Amino Up Toner

Step 1: Amino Up Toner

This toner is designed to smooth skin texture, as well as enhance the absorption of the next steps in your routine. It contains leucine which helps regenerate aging skin and reduce fine lines and sagging skin.

Out of the sachet, it gave off a moderately strong fragrance. It had a clear gel consistency and felt very light and spreadable. There was enough product in the sachet for 2 uses but it absorbed so quickly into my skin that I was able to use up all of it in a single session. The finish felt like I’d just patted 3 layers of toner into my skin.

Ingredients: Water, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Betaine, Glycerin, Ethyl Hexanediol, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Panthenol, Allantoin, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tromethamine, Cetearyl Olivate, Xanthan Gum, Sorbitan Olivate, Sorbitan Isostearate, Glycine, Serine, Glutamic Acid, Aspartic Acid, Leucine, Alanine, Lysine, Arginine, Tyrosine, Phenylalanine, Proline, Threonine, Valine, Isoleucine, Histidine, Cysteine, Methionine, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Milk Protein Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polysorbate 60, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance

Step 2: Lifting Eye Gel

Step 2: Lifting Eye Gel

This eye gel brightens the eye area, as well as tightens drooping wrinkles. It features niacinamide which improves the appearance of fine lines, uneven skin tone, and strengthens the surface of skin.

Like the toner in step 1, this was also giving off a moderately strong fragrance. It had a milky gel consistency and felt very light on the sensitive skin around my eyes. Again, like the toner in step 1, it absorbed quickly, leaving my skin lightly hydrated without any residue. There was enough product in the sachet for 2-3 uses.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Niacinamide, Cyclohexasiloxane, 1,2-Hexanediol, Trehalose, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Butylene Glycol, Ethyl Hexanediol, Tremella Fuciformis (Mushroom) Extract, Pearl Extract, Polyacrylate-13, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Phytosteryl/Octyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Polyisobutene, Dimethiconol, Polysorbate 20, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sorbitan Isostearate, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA

Step 3: Sheet Mask

This ight-as-air sheet mask is formulated with 17 different types of amino acids to brighten and lift the skin, in addition to providing a burst of nutrition. Featuring mushroom extract, this mask has anti-inflammatory properties and can help improve acne, rosacea, and eczema.

Just like steps 1 and 2, this was also giving off the same moderately strong fragrance. The sheet felt very soft and thin, almost like silk. Essence was clear and runny.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Trehalose, Tremella Fuciformis (Mushroom) Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Aspartic Acid, Leucine, Alanine, Lysine, Tyrosine, Phenylalanine, Valine, Threonine, Proline, Isoleucine, Histidine, Arginine, Methionine, Cysteine, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Serine, Glutamic Acid, Glycine, Allantoin, Panthenol, Adenosine, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Carbomer, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Xanthan Gum, PVM/MA Copolymer, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin, Ethyl Hexanediol, Fragrance

During masking

Fit was average on my face. The holes were too small and uncomfortable. The sheet had a small overall size and covered the inner perimeter of my face. However, due to the softness of the sheet, I was able to easily manipulate it to conform to the contours of my face.

Adherence was great! The sheet was s thin and soft that it clung on to my skin really well. There were no air bubbles nor lifts during the entire masking process.

I removed the mask after 30 mins, the sheet had white patches all over. I suggest a shorter wait time of 20 mins.

After masking

The remaining essence took some patting and massaging to absorb and dry down. Finish was tacky and look dewy.

My skin felt very hydrated and moisturized. I did not require a moisturizer at all. I think dry skin will enjoy this as well. Oily skin should use this only at night or wipe down the excess essence to prevent feeling uncomfortable and icky.

My skin tone looked very even but most of my redness was still present. There was a mild plumping effect but not enough to blur my pores and fine lines.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

This was a very handy pack with great ingredients. But my skin require more than just hydration. People whose only issue is dryness will enjoy this pack more. Check out more Wonjin reviews here.
