Before masking

My skin is extra sensitive and red today. Sebum-wise, it’s feeling like normal skin with the usual slight dehydration. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Material

The packaging features an easy-peel corner. Just pull the flap and the packaging opens up easily, revealing the mask and tons of essence. This made scooping out the remaining essence really easy.

I did not detect any scent upon opening the packaging. The biocellulose mask was soaked in clear gel essence.

Biocellulose sheet is derived from fermented coconut and has the ability to tightly conform to the skin. It came in one large piece sandwiched between 2 mesh backings to retain its shape. I peeled off one of the mesh backings and placed the mask against my skin, then peeled off the outer mesh. This made application such a breeze since the mask had no chance to fold onto itself. The biocellulose felt thin and soft.

During masking

Fit was near perfect. My only complaint was the nose tent. I fixed it by deepening the cut at the sides of my nose. Apart from that, the sheet was large enough all around to cover my entire face with some excess to spare. It helped that the sheet was thin and soft enough which made it very pliable.

Adherence was great as with all biocellulose sheets. It clung on tightly to my skin without slipping, air bubbles, or lifts. It felt like a second skin.

I took the mask off after an hour, it was still damp. This really surprised me in a good way because most biocellulose sheets I’ve tried in the past tended to dry out after 20 mins, leaving me to pry the sheet off my skin.

After masking

The remaining essence absorbed after a few pats. Finish was non-tacky and non-greasy, it had more of a velvety feel. My skin also looked slightly dewy.

My combo skin felt very hydrated with the right amount of moisturization. I was able to layer on a gel moisturizer without feeling heavy. I think this is suitable for all skin types.

Results were amazing all around. My skin looked almost flawless with smooth skin texture, radiant skin, and minimal redness. My skin also felt soft, bouncy, and supple.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

I really enjoyed this mask! The nourishing and hydrating variants gave me the same amazing results. It’s a pity this is only sold in Asia. If you’re in the area, I strongly urge you to hunt it down. Check out more Innisfree reviews here.

Go be beautiful!
