My skin is extra sensitive and red today. Sebum-wise, it’s feeling like normal skin with the usual slight dehydration. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a moderately strong watermelon candy scent. It was fruity and pleasant. Essence was clear and runny.
The mask material felt like thick yet soft cotton. It did not come with a backing.
Fit was great despite the insufficient slits. The softness of the material made it really pliable. I found the eye holes a tad too small but they’e weren’t bothering my eyes or anything.
Adherence was satisfactory. The material was completely drenched in essence and that allowed the thick cotton to cling to my skin. There were still lifts from where the mask folded and overlapped. After 5 mins of masking, the material around my chin started hanging loose.
I took the mask off after 30 mins, it was slightly damp.
While patting in the remaining essence, I felt a slight cooling sensation on my skin. Finish was tacky and dewy but it gradually dried down to become more comfortable.
My combo skin felt very hydrated and moisturized, enough to skip moisturizer when used in the day. I think oily skin might find this a tad too heavy. Dry skin on the other hand can really benefit from its moisturizing benefits.
The greatest improvement I noticed was to the plumpness of my skin. So much so that my pores looked smaller and my fine lines disappeared. My skin felt bouncy and chock full of water.
The redness in my skin seemed to have disappeared but returned after an hour or so. Also, my skin gradually got drier as the day when by. I had to reapply a moisturizer to get rid of the tightening sensation.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I enjoyed the sweet fruity scent of the mask and how healthy it made my skin feel. But it’s a tad pricier than what I’m used to considering the short longevity of the results. They are still good quality masks and make great gifts. Check out more Purlisse reviews here.
