Review: Mizon Enjoy Vital-Up Time Calming Mask ★★★★★
Hello my lovelies! Yesterday, I mentioned that I’ve been diagnosed with contact dermatitis. So I’ve been put on a strict routine of just cortisol cream, coconut oil and Aquaphor ointment. I thought that was pretty boring so I’ve decided to take a risk and try out a mask. Imagine my surprise when I found this Mizon Enjoy Vital-Up Time Calming Mask just hanging out in my stash. And what was even more amazing was the fact that it specifically states that it combats contact dermatitis and atopic eczema. SCORE!
This long-fiber sheet mask contains bee propolis, an active ingredient known to have soothing effects on skin. Propolis helps to decrease the amount of irritants that may cause inflammation which makes this an excellent choice for troubled skin. It includes Mizon’s “vital essence”, a formula made of 1) Allantoin to help recover skin condition 2) Trehalose, which is a safe natural moisturizing ingredient 3) Hyaluronic Acid, a moisturizer that holds 1000 times its weight in water and 4) Sc-glucan, an ingredient that soothes hydrates, and revitalizes. It claims to hydrate, soothe and calm troubled skin. It is available on Peach & Lily for $3.50 a piece or $15.99 for a 10-pack on Amazon. This post contains an affiliate link.
Even thought I’ve applied the cortisol cream for a night and it has calmed down the irritation slightly, my skin still looks red and feels stretchy, rough and slightly itchy. Instead of going through with my usual prepping process, I decided to only cleanse my skin with a gentle cleanser made with natural ingredients and meant for sensitive skin, skipping toner and exfoliation entirely.
Since I was advised to do a cold compress, I decided to stick this packet in the fridge before using it. Upon opening the packet, I detected a very slight refreshing scent, like lime-flavored popsicle. The material is soft and has a medium thickness. It unfolds easily. I only had to insert an incision at the chin, otherwise, it fits perfectly on the contours of my face.
The coldness felt great on my skin, there was zero stinging sensation on my rough and damaged skin throughout the entire 35 minutes of the masking process. There was still a boat load of essence left on my face after removing the sheet mask.
My skin is now hydrated, ALOT less red and feel soft! I applied the cortisol cream on the affected areas and topped it of with coconut oil. Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures for comparison.
From the comparison above, it is obvious that the redness has been reduced and my skin also looks dewier. Since this is a pricier mask, I do recommend using it on a weekly basis to maintain a healthy complexion. Overall, I do highly recommend it and it’s going into my HG list!
