Review: NOHJ Superfood Honey Mask ★★★☆☆

Hello my lovelies! Today is another day for another calming/anti-inflammation sheet mask since I am still recovering from contact dermatitis.

I’ve never tried any NOHJ products so I’m really excited to find out how this performs. The packaging really attractive. It feels like an expensive sheet mask and the back side has a holographic pattern which I find really pretty but also really trippy.

This mask contains royal jelly and honey extract which is great for its anti-inflammatory properties. It also claims to provide moisture, nutrition, and brightness to skin. You can find this mask on Beauteque for $1.99 a piece or 10 for $15.99 on Amazon.

Before masking

The redness is still persisting even though my skin feels alot better. It is still dry and sensitive but it’s no longer irritated and raw. Here, I’ve cleansed and toned my skin and also gently exfoliated it since the affected parts are healing and are now feeling pretty rough to the touch. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking here.

Upon opening the packet, the sheet mask is generously soaked in clear essence, which has a light fragrance that has a slight honey smell. The material feels very thick and stiff. It does unfold easily.

During masking

Due to how stiff and thick the sheet mask is, I had to cut extra incisions and force the air bubbles out to make it bend to my facial contours. Even then, air bubbles keep appearing at random places and the side flaps kept unsticking from my face. I had this on for about 35 minutes. While my skin was still sensitive, there is zero stinging sensation during the entire masking process.

After masking

There is a nice layer of essence left on my face upon removing the sheet mask. I patted it in and there is zero stickiness. My face feels nicely hydrated, soft and relieved. Here is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

Obviously, the mask has toned down my redness significantly. My skin also looks dewier and brighter. However, due to how stiff the mask material is, I don’t think I would repurchase this despite the low price. There are other better masks that give me the same or better effects and with a softer material that adheres to my face without effort.

Go be beautiful!
