Decided to pick this up while shopping for gifts at Sephora yesterday. I was mainly attracted to the packaging and the rose “flavor”.
These masks come in a plethora of “flavors” depending on your needs. I picked rose because I really like the smell of roses and bonus points for it being an ultra moisturizing and brightening mask. It contains natural rose extract and claims to provide deep moisture and brightening properties. I got it from Sephora for $6 a piece.
Skin is feeling pretty dry and stretchy, the weather is not helping. I’m starting to get fine lines near the inner corners on my eyes. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin, still skipping exfoliation till my skin is 100% recovered.
The packaging was a little too thick and hard to tear, but I still managed it with great force. Upon opening the packaging, I detected a very strong rose scent. It was HEAVENLY. The material also looks pinkish, which I later realized that it’s due to the backing was supposed to be removed.
The actual sheet mask is very soft and very thin. It is soaked in rose-scented clear essence. It was really easy to unfold and remove the backing.
Due to how thin it is, I was able to easily manipulate it to fit the contours of my face. It also adheres very well. There was zero stinging sensation throughout the entire masking process. I had this on for about 35 minutes. It was a great experience mainly due to the rose scent, I almost didn’t want to take it off but it was already starting to dry up.
There was little to no essence upon removing the mask. My skin felt soft, smooth and hydrated. Below is a side by side of the before and after pictures for comparison.
It seemed to have taken down my redness a little and also made my skin looks dewy. However, I did not notice any brightening effects. Also, the hydration did not last throughout the day, about 3 hours in and I’m starting to feel dry again.
Final thoughts, I don’t think this is worth $6. This is tremendously expensive for an okay result. Some of my HG sheet masks are only $1 and performs way better than this. I don’t recommend this and will not repurchase, despite how much I enjoyed the rose fragrance.
