Review: Holika Holika After Night Overtime (Vitality) ★★★☆☆
Not gonna lie, I bought this because I thought the packaging is cute. Can’t help being a sucker for packaging.
This is the Holika Holika After Night Overtime (Vitality) version and it contains peppermint, chamomile and blueberry to improve dull over-worked skin. It’s available at Beauteque for $2.50 a piece. This before and after series targets different concerns.
The usual mugshot shows that my skin is looking just a tad red, very dry on the forehead and overall quite puffy. I’ve cleansed and toned my skin, skipping exfoliation to let my skin continue to recover from contact dermatitis. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, the material is super soft and soaked in pclear essence. But it has a strong perfumey smell and only contains 15ml (not the usual 25ml) of clear essence. It was very easy to unfold and very pliable.
The fit and adherence is great! But this lightly tingled my sensitive skin throughout the 25 minutes of wear and it is pretty much dried up. I totally get it since it is meant for busy professionals who want quick solutions.
At the 25-minute mark, the forehead area is starting to dry up and turn white.
There is little to no essence after the sheet mask has been removed. My skin feels hydrated, bouncy and less puffy but it did leave behind a tacky finish. I would’ve skipped moisturizer in the summer but felt that I needed an extra something something since it’s so overcast and cold today. Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
While it did my skin a nice sheen, it did not reduce my redness. This addresses a pretty specific concern so if you’ve had a long night and had to get up early for work the next day and if you have dry skin, I’d say go for it. Otherwise, I won’t be repurchasing.
