Decided to try this out because it’s been circulating on the interweb and blueberries means antioxidants. No one raved about it though.
This is the It’s Skin The Fresh Sheet Mask Blueberry which contains blueberries, strawberry and raspberry extract. Warning: It also contains alcohol. This claims to delivers intense moisture to skin, boosting its vitality and overall health. I paid $2 at Forever21 for this because I wanted to get 3 sheet masks without having to pay for shipping. You can get it from Memebox for $1 each or $8.95 for a 3-pack on Amazon. This post contains an affiliate link.
This mugshot shows my skin being slightly blotchy and very dry. I’ve already cleansed and toned my skin, skipping exfoliation to let it continue to recover from contact dermatitis. Find out how I usually prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, the soft, medium-thick material is soaked in milky lotiony essence, which is my favorite kind. It also smells wonderfully of blueberries and fruits. It was really easy to unfold.
The fit may be great, in terms of the positioning of the eye, nose and mouth holes. But it was a challenge to get all the air bubbles out and get the mask to completely adhere to my face. It kept trying to detach itself. There is zero stinging sensation throughout the entire masking process even though alcohol is pretty high up on the list. I had this on for about 25 minutes because it is starting to dry out and detach even more.
Other than some light hydration, there is no visible difference to my skin. I also sealed it off with a moisturizer. Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
My redness is still there and there is no brightening effect. My face started to feel stretchy again halfway through the day. This is such a disappointing mask and I would not recommend it nor repurchase.
Go be beautiful!
