The Face Shop Real Nature Lotus Mask

Review: The Face Shop Real Nature Lotus Mask ★☆☆☆☆

I’ve been naughty 🙄 The hubs made me binge-watch Supernatural with him during the weekend hence all thoughts of caring for my skin have gone out the window. So today, I’ve decided to this out, also because the packaging is cute and the ingredients list has flower extract listed pretty high up.

Water, Dipriopylene Glycol, Glycerin, Nelumbo Nucifera Flower Extract, Alcohol Denat Sorbitol, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Panthenol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Betaine, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrihizate, Xanthan Gum, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Carbomer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Potassium Hydroxide, Fragrance

It claims to moisturize and give tired skin, rough skin a boost of radiance. A 10-pack variety set retails at $11.50 on Amazon.

Before masking

I’ve cleansed and toned my skin, skipping exfoliation to let my skin continue to recover from contact dermatitis. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

During masking

The mask sheet drenched in a smooth serum with oil (?!) with the pure energy of Lotus Flower moisturizes and gives tired, rough skin a boost of radiance. The sheet itself is soft and of medium thickness. It’s drenched in clear gel essence which has a chemically floral scent. The fit and adherence isn’t amazing. It is wider than it is tall, the eye and mouth holes are too small and certain parts just refuse to stick to my skin. Just 30 mins into wearing this, the mask is almost dried out.

After masking

There was nothing to pat into my skin. Skin is still feeling rather dry despite this being a hydrating mask, so I topped it off with rosehip oil. Other than some temporary wrinkles from the fold lines of the sheet mask, there isn’t a real visible difference to my skin. My skin did not experience any irritation during the masking process BUT, 30 mins later, my entire face started to feel a burning sensation and turned really red 😡 So I washed it off and just used rosehip oil for hydration. It’s still burning 😢 I’m side-eyeing the alcohol in the ingredients list, but not entirely sure who is the culprit since I’m no expert.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

I would not recommend this to anyone who has sensitive and somewhat dry skin like me.

Go be beautiful!
