Review: Mediheal I.P.I. Lightmax Hydro Nude Gel Mask ★★★★☆

Its main ingredients are Vitamin C, Morus Alba Bark extract and Mulberry extract for whitening purposes. Niacinamide and other fruit extracts are pretty high up on the ingredient list which is a good sign. This mask uses IPL (Intense Perfection Light) technology to suppress melanin, improve dark, dull and rough skin, and reveal skin’s radiance more effectively.

Before masking

My skin is looking a little red and dull today. I’ve already cleansed and toned, skipping exfoliation to avoid further aggravating my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

The hydrogel mask is transparent and feels like wobbly jelly, good thing it came sandwiched between two plastic backings so I’ll never be able to unfold it. It came in two pieces for the top and bottom parts of the face.

During masking

Fit and adherence were amazing. there was no sign of slippage or unsticking. I noticed a nice cooling sensation the moment I slapped this on my face. No, I did not pre-refrigerate this. I had this on for about 30 minutes and the edges are starting to dry out.

After masking

Please excuse this blurry picture, I must have gotten fingerprints on the camera lens without realizing it. My skin feel super soft and smooth, and looks airbrushed! It seemed to have improved my skin texture by minimizing my pores and flattening out the fine lines on my forehead and around my eyes. My PIH has also significantly lightened. The only gripe I have is the lack of hydration. There was absolutely no essence left to pat in and my skin felt slightly dry. I slathered on a thicker than usual moisturizer to normalize the dryness, BUT little balls starting appearing as I was rubbing the moisturizer in. Very weird. It’s definitely not the moisturizer because I’ve used it on it’s own and it’s never done this.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

I’d reckon this is great for oily skin peeps in the summer, when hydration and tackiness are more of an annoyance than a need. Overall still a great mask. Check out more Mediheal reviews here.
