Review: Timeless Truth Bee Venom Bio Cellulose Mask ★★★★☆

This is my first time trying out a mask by Timeless Truth, I was super psyched considering how much the Taiwanese beauty community loves this brand.

Notable ingredients are tranexamic acid, olive fruit oil, honey, royal jelly, rice, hyaluronic acid, botanical extracts and placing second last on the list, bee venom. Bee venom is long used in ancient medicine – nature’s alternative to Botox that stimulates the body’s production of collagen and elastin to smooth, lift and tighten skin. The venom also contains a compound called melittin, which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. This also contains methylisothiazolinone, sensitive skin users beware.

Before masking

My blemishes are healing nicely and I would really love to lighten up some PIH and get some hydration. I’ve already cleansed, toned and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Material

Out of the packet, I detected a light fragrance. The sheet comes sandwiched between a blue cloth and a white plastic backings. The instructions specifically said to remove the white backing first, place the non-blue side on the face, then remove the blue backing. I did just that and it still took some effort and time to get it right considering how thin and soft the material is.

During masking

A double-edged sword situation, fit and adherence are on point. The mouth hole was too small for me so I bunched it up, giving myself somewhat of a moustache, and it stayed that way. I had this on for about 35 mins and it was starting to dry out.

After masking

I had this on for about 35 mins and it was starting to dry out. My skin felt super smooth and soft. I was super shocked to see how bright my skin looks, redness is completely gone and PIH has been significantly reduced. My skin texture was also improved, reflecting a glow. There was a slight firming action going on (not sure if it’s actually lifting my skin or if there wasn’t enough hydration) but it was slightly uncomfortable for my combo dry skin so I added a moisturizer.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

This is a perfect mask for daytime use, especially under makeup. It’s slightly pricey so I would recommend it for special occasions. Check out more Timeless Truth reviews here.
