Review: Naruko Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Mask ★★★★★

This mask is designed to calm irritated skin, reduce blemishes, and control acne. The activated carbon in the sheet mask material helps absorb excess oil and prevent acne. It enhances sebum secretion control and maintains oil-water balance for shine and blemish free skin. This mask aims to cleanse pores and balance sebum production while providing hydration to reduce blemishes and post blemish marks.

Naruko is a Taiwanese brand founded by Niu Er. He is a skincare guru who is known to look 20+ years younger than he really is.

Notable ingredients: tranexamic acid (whitening), salicylic acid (BHA), 11 plant extracts, tea tree oil. Ingredient list looks good! Warning: alcohol is present.

Before masking

My skin is feeling normal today, but I’m battling two gigantic pimples this week. They are huge, deep, and painful to the touch. Please be prepared for a close-up of said pimples. You have been warned.

I’ve already cleansed, toned and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Out of the packet, a heavenly waft of tea tree + spearmint scent floated towards me.

Material

The black material looks opaque but it felt very soft and thin.

Essence

Essence was clear and viscous. There were tons of it left in the packet.

During masking

Upon placing it on my skin, there was a cooling effect, not sure if it’s from the alcohol content in the essence. There was also a slight tingle in the first 10 mins. Adherence was amazing. As for the fit, it was mostly decent, I’ll like it better if it wasn’t wider than it is long.

This is a pretty short mask compared to other masks. They usually extend beyond my chin but this one stops right at my chin. My forehead was also partly uncovered.

I had this on for about 45 mins, it was just starting to dry out.

Essence dried down to a matte finish. The pesky pimples were slightly less painful and alot less red, they look brown almost. If it weren’t for these pimples, the right side of my cheek would’ve looked perfect.

After masking

The rest of my skin looked hydrated, smooth, and very bright. My skin also felt soothed and hydrated.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

Definitely a repurchase especially for when acne strikes! Continued use will eradicate those pesky pimples! Find more Naruko reviews here.
