Review: My Beauty Diary Tranexamic Acid Mask ★★★★☆

According to Paula’s Choice, tranexamic acid is an effective skin lightener for hyperpigmentation and melasma.

I’ve never tried any of My Beauty Diary’s treatment series, I’m super curious about it’s effectiveness. Find more reviews of My Beauty Diary masks here.

This contains botanical extract, hyaluronic acid, citric acid, peptide and lastly 😒 tranexamic acid (an AHA).

Before masking

My skin is feeling normal today, but I’m battling two gigantic pimples this week. They are huge, deep, and painful to the touch. Please be prepared for a close-up of said pimples. You have been warned.

I’ve already cleansed, toned and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

My Beauty Diary Tranexamic Acid Mask
Material

The thin tencel material felt like Annie’s Way silk masks and was soaked in watery essence which smelled like green tea. Good thing it came with a backing or I would’ve torn it.

Fit and adherence were great due to the super thin material. I had this on for 45 mins, no sensitivity at all.

After masking

My skin looked alot brighter, smoother and less red. Hydration was moderate though.

After

But what amazed me most with how smooth my skin looked and felt. My current pimples seemed to have lightened up, and my old PIH seemed to have disappeared.

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

This mask reminds me of the Mediheal Line Friends IPI Lightmax Ampoule Mask, except that has better effects and was more hydrating.

I’d reckon this is great for oily, dull skin peeps and hotter climates. I wouldn’t be in a rush to repurchase this since Mediheal Line Friends IPI Lightmax Ampoule Mask gave me a more drastic effect for around the same price. This is still a decent mask for the price. Check out more My Beauty Diary masks here.
