Review: Oozoo Bear Black Space Pore Caring Mask ★★☆☆☆
This mask is made from bamboo charcoal. It claims to purify skin and tighten pores. A separate ampoule is pocketed separated within the bear’s ear.
The sheet mask contains witch hazel and tea tree extract, common ingredients to soothe skin and calm breakouts. This ampoule contains a key ingredient called Oxyforce cellular active which improves the skin’s natural collagen production by increasing the amount of oxygen available to the pores.
My skin is feeling slightly dry today. Just as I’m recovering from a humongous breakout, more pimples starting showing up! So i’m battling pimples AND hyperpigmentation. Please be prepared for a close up of my gross skin. You have been warned.
These bumps are angry, painful to the touch, and have no plans to leave. I’ve already cleansed, toned and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
As cute as the packaging is, and as innovative as the concept keeping chemical reactions fresh, there is still some challenge trying to get the “ear to pop”. Here is a step by step guide. Another thing I find annoying is that I can never know if the ampoule is evenly mixed in, all I can do it keep squishing the packet and hope for the best.
Out of the packet I detected a powdery scent, it was pretty mild. I was surprised to find a black mask, it felt pretty thick, but soft, and drenched in sticky clear essence.
Considering how soft the material is, I was hoping it comes with a backing. Nevertheless, it wasn’t hard to unfold and place on the face.
Fit was pretty good, it needed extra slits, which wasn’t hard to add. Adherence was great! I can this on for around 40 mins.
Immediately my skin felt hydrated and looked bright and smooth. The remaining essence dried down matte and not sticky.
Redness was reduced and pitted scars seemed to have been plumped up. However, the effects only lasted a few hours before my skin starting feeling dry and looking red again.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
Considering how short-lived the effects were, I will not be repurchasing this. However, I do recommend this to people who live in warmer climates and have oily skin. The Water-Bang Hydrating version is a much better mask.
