My Beauty Diary 2-Step Brightening Repair Mask

Review: My Beauty Diary 2-Step Brightening Repair Mask ★★★★☆

It’s rare for me to be disappointed in any My Beauty Diary masks, they’re affordable and effective! I’ve never seen these 2-step masks from this brand so I’m really excited to try it out! Find more reviews on My Beauty Diary masks here.

This mask claims to brighten and repair with snail mucin. Step 1 is a sheet mask and step 2 is a cream. Both contain emollients, botanical extracts, arbutin, and hyaluronic acid. Strange enough, both do not contain any snail ingredients.

Before masking

My skin is feeling slightly dry today. Just as I’m recovering from a humongous breakout, more pimples starting showing up! So i’m battling pimples AND hyperpigmentation. Please be prepared for a close up of my gross skin. You have been warned.

Before

These bumps are angry, painful to the touch, and have no plans to leave. I’ve already cleansed, toned and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.

Material

Step 1 is a sheet mask drenched in clear watery essence, I was expecting it to be gooey considering it claims to contain snail mucin. It gave off a light floral fragrance, signature of My Beauty Diary’s masks.

Material felt very thin and soft, almost as thin as silk masks. Good thing it came with a plastic backing or I would’ve torn it.

During masking

Fit was pretty bad, it was wider than it was long, gave me a nose tent and had a small mouth hole. Adherence was great. After 40 mins, I patted the essence in.

At this point my skin is feeling and looking great! Time to lock in that hydration!

Step 2: Cream

This cream felt very thick, not surprised at all since most of the ingredients listed on top are emollients. I used half of what was in the packet, using all would’ve been too much. The cream had a nice silky finish, not tacky. Most importantly, it is scentless! I have a weakness for scentless products.

After cream

The finish wasn’t tacky, but wasn’t matte either. It has a nice slip to it, very unexpected. My skin looked bright and pores seemed to have shrunk.

My pimples are still present, but they are less red. The skin around my pimples looked plump and great! That glow is to die for!

Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.

Bad fit aside, considering how affordable and effective this mask is, I highly urge everyone to get it now! I was thoroughly impressed!
