This is a 2-step system that contains 100% Camellia oil in the first step and a cupra sheet mask in the second step. This system claims to nourish, brighten and anti-oxidize skin.
I was skeptical about layering on an oil before sheet masking because oil has always been the last step of my routine to seal to everything in. Oil molecules are larger than water molecules hence it absorbs slower and should come before water. But technology is so advanced these days so this oil may have been specially designed to be applied before a sheet mask. It did claim to enhance the absorption of the the sheet mask though, so we’ll see.
My skin is feeling slightly dry and mildly irritated today. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
There was plenty of oil in the pouch, not recommended to use it all at once, learn from my mistake, I turned into a greaseball and EVERYTHING around me turned greasy though I don’t recall ever touching them. Tip: Using a scissors to open the packaging makes it easier on greasy hands.
This oil has a light vegetable oil scent when I put my nose really close to it.
With my face looking like a Christmas ornament, I placed the thin and soft sheet mask on.
The material had a brownish tint and made of state-of-the-art micro-fiber cotton. It was drenched with gooey essence, there wasn’t any left in the packaging.
Fit and adherence were great! The sides were just a tad wide so I folded them front wards to avoid my scalp. I kept this on for about 50 mins because it smells amazingly of light jasmine, not advised since this was drying out especially around the forehead area. It would’ve been better to keep it on for a shorter time, say 35 mins.
It took a while to massage the essence-oil combo in because it’s still very greasy. Not in an uncomfortable, suffocating way. The grease is pretty light, but still in abundance. My skin was obviously very hydrated and supple. Brightening wasn’t obvious but my skin did look dewy, even and alot less red. Fine lines on my forehead were plumped up. Throughout the day, as the essence got absorbed slowly, my skin just kept looking better and better. Not a red spot in sight, dewiness was maintained.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
I like this very much! $6 a piece is a really good price for this 2-step mask that delivered such dramatic results. Recommended for night use as this can feel pretty heavy under suncreen and makeup.
