Alrighty, you know the first thing imma talk about is the packaging. At first, I found it confusing to have all 3 variants listed on the same packaging. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the only way to find out which one you’re using is to look for a circle sticker next to the name. I guess it’s a pretty smart way to save money on packaging.
This variant has the hardest to pronounce name, I don’t even want to try. It claims to brighten and hydrate skin. Listed as the first ingredient in the list, crithmum maritimum (sea fennel stem cell extract) is a 100% plant-based retinol and is able to reduce fine lines and even out skin tone. It contains a high consistency of antioxidants, which helps to support the skin’s collagen production.
What surprised me was how short the ingredients list is, it only contains 12 ingredients! This looks very promising indeed.
Crithmum Maritimum Callus Culture Filtrate, Lecithin, Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract, Collagen, Chondrus Crispus Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Carbomer, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Butylene Glycol, Methylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Water
My skin is feeling alright today, just a couple of post-inflammatory erythema to address. I’ve cleansed, toned, and exfoliated my skin. Find out how I normally prep my skin for masking.
Out of the packet, I caught a perfumey fragrance, which was strange since fragrance was not listed as one of the ingredients. Essence was clear and has the consistency of a runny gel. The black mask felt soft and had medium thickness. It also came with a perforated backing for ease of application.
Fit was meh for me. It was alot wider than it was long, which left part of my forehead and nose uncovered, while my tragus (that little soft bone connecting my outer cheek to my ear hole) were covered. Adherence was great! I had this on for 30 mins, it was still plenty damp and clingy.
Essence absorbed very fast after a few quick pats. Finish was matte and non-sticky. My skin felt nicely hydrated, I also noticed some brightening, reduced pore size, and reduced redness. However, my skin type required an occlusive layer to seal in all that goodness or it’ll start to feel tight.
Below is a side by side comparison of the before and after pictures.
The effects are very similar to Annie’s Way masks, which meant I love it! This is great for oily skin and hot days.
Go be beautiful!
